As Bamber Bridge FC players and coaching staff prepare to jet off to Magaluf this week, coach Phil Entwistle is already preparing for next season.
Brig's fairytale promotion push was ended by a play-off 3-2 defeat to FC United of Manchester last Wednesday at Gigg Lane.

Entwistle said: "It has been a disappointing season as we did not get through to the play-offs and we have not had a successful season but it is something we can build for next year.

"There will be teams in the division who will see Curzon Ashton, Skelmersdale and us as the favourites to get promoted but all I know is that we will be a stronger and more organised side.

"When the season ended I was in contact with three players who I will be meeting in the next few weeks to join the club.

"They will give us more experience in certain areas which I feel is what we need. I am happy with the players we have here and they are all determined to go one step further. Some of these lads are only in their 20s and have been here two or three years and want to achieve promotion."

FC United of Manchester went on to win the play-off final against Skelmersdale on Sataurday 4-1 but Entwistle insisted his team had been unlucky.

He said: "I still maintain on the night we were done by an offside decision."
