Manor sprint to claim medals
A Clayton-le-Woods school's athletics team is celebrating after beating local rivals to claim first prize.
Manor Road Primary School won the Clayton and Whittle Sports trophy – seeing off nine of its neighbours in the process.
The competition included a number of individual and team events including sprints, relays and lapped races.
Teacher Karen Kenyon said she was very proud of the winning team, who each received a medal for their victory.
She said: "We did quite a lot of lunch time practices and they have all done very well for themselves and for the school.
"We have a number of outstanding young sporting stars who have done us proud."
