Leyland continued their 100 per cent record with a hard-fought derby win against Chorley.
South African pro Brett Pelser was the hero with a magnificent undefeated 85.

Leyland had slipped to 70-6 chasing Chorley's modest total of 145-9 when Pelser and Peter Cummings (35 not out) shared a match-winning partnership of 78.

Pelser blasted eight fours and four sixes.

It was tough on Chorley's Kieran McCullagh, who had threatened to win the game with his figures of 4-53.

Chorley were missing four players and it was left to veteran Michael Critchley (54 not out) to post a respectable total.

Andrew Makinson took 3-29, including the prize wicket of pro JJ Smuts for 13.

* Leyland 2nd XI had the better of a winning draw against Chorley.

Daniel Hall's 104 was the mainstay of Leyland's impressive 240-5.

In reply Chorley finished well short despite a knock of 73 from veteran Mark Richardson.

Tayyab Afsar took 6-54 from 20 overs
