It was labelled rugby league's game of the season but Wigan Warriors' recent nail-biting win against Leeds Rhinos was even sweeter for a 20-year-old from Leyland.
Chris Tuson came on as substitute for a 20-minute cameo performance at the JJB Stadium - a far cry from turning out on the Moss Side Playing Fields just two-and-a-half years ago.

He said: "It was a bit of a blur as there were 15,000 fans shouting and the atmosphere was amazing.

"After the game the assistant manager was talking to me about aspects of the game but I could not remember them. Most of the time I was defending so it was positive that I came through it.

"I have since watched it back on DVD but it was an unbelievable end to the game to win against the world champions."

Wigan eventually won 23-22 but Leeds could have snatched a win in the dying seconds, however they missed a controversial penalty from 40 metres out.

Chris was awarded his chance in the first team after being an ever-present member of the reserves team.
