Bamber Bridge FC sprung an upset when they defeated promotion hopefuls Lancaster City.
Tony Greenwood's side prevented the Dolly Blues from completing a league double over the QED Stadium team.

Striker Phil Eastwood continued his impressive run of scoring when he fired home his 14th of the season in the 23rd minute.

The goal came
after a smart lay-off from Josh Cartman.

Brig had a chance to make it 2-0 when Danny Mahoney went one-on-one with the goalkeeper but Martin Fearon made a save.

It remained at 1-0 until the break but Lancaster equalised when Adam Farrell scored on 54 minutes.

On the hour-mark defender Phil Robinson restored Bamber Bridge's lead to 2-1.

Lancaster made a triple substitution in the 71st minute to try to get something out of the game but it was Brig who were doing the attacking.

Neil Reynolds shot was headed over for a Brig corner while a weak shot by Shane Oldfield failed to trouble the keeper shortly after.

In added time, Mahoney almost rounded off the victory in stoppage time when he fired over.

Brig: Ben Hinchcliffe, James Heywood, Chris Marlow, Steve Aspinall, Phil Robinson, Ashley Dunn, Josh Cartman, Neil Reynolds (c), Shane Oldfield, Phil Eastwood (Craig Sargeson 82), Danny Mahoney. Subs: Phil Watson, Tom Mills.
