Leyland batsman Ian Farrington said he hoped hearing Blackpool's players singing in the changing room after Saturday's narrow win will stop the Fox Lane outfit from throwing away winning positions.
For the second time this season Leyland were leapfrogged to the top of the Northern League table by the side they'd just been beaten by.

In June Dave Makinson's men were bowled out by Kendal for 158 in pursuit of a victory target of just 163.

On Saturday they needed 143 to win but were dismissed for 138 - having been 93-2 at one stage.

Farrington, who was dismissed for 18, said it was a horrible feeling after the game. "At 93-2 I thought we were going to win and that Blackpool were going to get one point but Karl Cross got bowled by a ball that kept really low.

"Their pro (Saj Weerakoon) turned the ball a lot but we should have been more positive against him. That's probably where we missed Dave Makinson's influence as he was away.

"The defeats against Kendal and Blackpool were both disappointing because they were to teams who were both second in the league at the time and they overtook us after winning.

"The atmosphere in the changing room afterwards was one of disppointment but we picked ourselves up to beat Darwen in the Thwaites Cup on Sunday."

Tomorrow, Saturday, Leyland visit bottom-of-the-table Fleetwood.
