A 13-year-old girl from Leyland has been found hanging at her home.
At approximately 5.15pm on Monday, February 1, police received a report from the ambulance service that a 13 year old girl had been found hanging at her home address in Leyland.

She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after 6.30pm.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is now underway.

The girl has been named as Aimee Critchley who attended All Hallows High School, Penwortham.

Specially trained police Family Liaison Officers and police staff are offering guidance and support to the girl's devestated family.

Pupils at the school have been told about the tragic news and they are also being offered specialist support from Lancashire County Council's Critical Incident Support Team.
