Man jailed for stabbing teen

A man has been sent to prison for stabbing a teenager in Leyland.
Michael McDonald, 21, from Cumberland Avenue, close to the Wade Hall estate, pleaded guilty to a wounding charge at an earlier hearing on August 8 at Preston Crown Court.

McDonald, known locally as 'Siggy', was sentenced to 20 months' imprisonment by Judge Norman Wright for inflicting a single stab wound to the chest of victim Ryan 'German' Robertson, which took place on Leyton Avenue, also on the Wade Hall Estate on Wednesday, June 25.

Robertson, 19, from Belgrave Court in Leyland, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with injuries described as 'serious but not life threatening' and discharged less than a week later.

    Michael Parkinson, 22, of Robin Hey, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Monday.

    Parkinson was arrested in the early hours of May 24, following an alleged incident at a house in Manor House Close, Moss Side

    The case was adjourned for sentencing back at Preston Crown Court on October 23 and Parkinson was given conditional bail.
