A police helicopter was called out in Leyland to help officers arresting a man on suspicion of affray.
Officers were called to an address on Midge Hill Lane, Leyland, just after midday on Wednesday.

A court official is believed to have been visiting the address when a scuffle broke out.

A man, who witnessed three police vans going down Leyland Lane, said: "The cars went down the road at speed and the police helicopter was overhead, clearly looking for something or somebody.

"I don't know what they were looking for but it seemed like a big operation."

A spokesman for Lancashire police said: "The police helicopter was in the area and was there to keep a watchful eye on the man in case he escaped.

"A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray."
