Leyland entrepreneur Tim Knowles returned to his former school this week to donate three large plasma screen televisions.
Now managing director of Chorley-based property investment and management company First Investments, the local boy who made good is a governor at Leyland St Mary's Catholic Technology College.

Mr Knowles is also a long-term benefactor of his old school making not only financial donations but also providing business advice as and when it's needed.

Headteacher of the Royal Avenue school, Trevor Day said: "Our students are already benefiting from the new plasma screens, which help to promote interactive learning.

"The college always strives to provide the absolute highest possible standard of education for our pupils, and donations such as this support us in our quest."

Mr Knowles said: "I'm pleased to be able to help the college to give local youngsters the very best education they can."
