Powerbeck Health and Fitness in Friday Street, Chorley was officially opened by the Mayor of Chorley, Coun Terry Brown who later found out he won the raffle - 12 months free membership!
Office manager Jackie Riding said: "He had bought a ticket when he was here but had gone when the draw was made I didn't realise who it was until I rang to inform him he had won."

On the open day there were various competitions for people to take part in, plus bouncy castle, and face painting for the children.

There were also demonstrations of Thai boxing by Sandy Holt and Trevor Hine plus mixed martial arts and cage fighting demonstrations.

Jackie said: "It was a really good day. We have been open since December and it's going quite well but we had never had an official opening. We raised money for Derian House, but we don't know how much because they were sealed boxes."

Jackie added: "We are doing well, we have more than 250 members but we are wanting a lot more. The Thai boxing classes are going really well and Michael Jennings the boxer will be starting some classes here."

The centre is open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday. There's a joining fee of £25 with a number of different options for membership.

For details call Jackie on 01257 241021.
