Firm is light years ahead
A specialist lighting firm from Chorley is looking forward to a bright future with a bespoke service that has included projects ranging from a Dubai hotel to a multi-storey car park.
Withnell-based Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd was formed in October 2006 and employs Paul Hindle, Barbara Myers and Tania Hindle.
The company has seen an increase in turnover of 32 per cent in the last 12 months and is on target to raise this to 50 per cent.
Paul said: "People use us who want something different in terms of lighting, whether it is for a domestic or a commercial project.
"Many people are quite happy to go down to their local DIY store to source their lights, which is fine, but there are many other people who want specialist advice on how to create that wow factor using lighting design.
"What we do is meet with the customer to get a feel for their tastes and the décor that they are going with and then produce a design that pushes them beyond their normal realm of thinking as far as lighting is concerned."
Paul said one of the most enjoyable parts of the job is the variety.
"We have been involved in a six storey office complex in the centre of Manchester, a multi-storey car park in Walsall, a five star hotel in Chester, Living Waters Church in Chorley, a kitchen refurbishment in Charnock Richard and energy saving initiatives at the Royal Preston Hospital," he said.
"We are currently working on four hotel projects in Dubai, a four star hotel in Cheshire and luxury apartments in Central London.
"We were asked to provide lights for the executive boxes at the City of Manchester Stadium by Manchester City FC and have also been asked to work on the lighting at the home of a number of Premier League footballers."
