The future of a Leyland security firm seems assured as its turnover is set to break the £1m barrier for the first time.
The Kudos Group based in Worden Park only formed in 2004 and has doubled its business over the last three years.
The firm is responsible for all aspects of the industry, including manned security, mobile patrols, retail security, training and recruitment.
Managing director, Trevor Lawson, says part of the success is down to people's fear of crime.
He said: "We speak to business people and they're worried about anti-social behaviour and the so-called hoodies.
"The economic climate at the moment means we're fairly recession-proof. People still need their properties looking after and they want to feel safe."
In 2005 the turnover of the Kudos Group was £500,000. Within 12 months the figure had grown to £750,000 and around £900,000 in 2007.
Mr Lawson said: "We're going to break £1m in 2008. That's a huge success story when you consider we started off in 2004 with two office staff and a handful of guards.
"We now employ 10 office staff at our new headquarters in Worden Park and have a pool of around 100 security workers."
